EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Music was in the air May 1 for Gatsby Day, the Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild’s annual festival to raise scholarship funds. During the afternoon, musical acts performed on Broadway and Thompson.

Missouri has no tolerance for underage drinking

JEFFERSON CITY – At the end of this year’s first quarter, teen fatalities in Missouri climbed 63% over this time last year. In the last three years, 24 fatal crashes and 101 serious injury crashes involved an alcohol-impaired driver under the age of 21.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers had their winningest week of the varsity baseball season last week. Excelsior Springs closed April and started May by going 4-1, with wins over Van Horn, Center, Odessa and Jefferson City.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Hickory Stick Golf Tournament is back. On May 1, the Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild staged the competition at Excelsior Springs Golf Course as part of Gatsby Days, the Cultural Guild’s annual spring scholarship fundraising event.
