Tigers continue prep for gridiron season at Kearney.

Dr. Sara Wickham, Principal of Excelsior Springs High School, is pleased to announce the Principal’s Honor Roll for Semester 2 of the 2024-2025 school year. Students must have an A- (3.66) grade point average with no grade below a B-. *Notes student had straight A (4.00) grade point average or higher.

After a second vehicle crashed into the local VFW hall in less than five months, Excelsior Springs officials are reviewing safety options to prevent future accidents in the same area. The incident, which again involved a vehicle leaving the roadway near South Kansas City Avenue, prompted city leaders and staff to examine the risks posed by speed, road conditions and a lack of barriers on the hill.

The next chapter of Orrick High School football will be written by someone who once carried the water bottles and wore the jersey under the Friday night lights. Matthew O’Dell, a 2009 graduate of Orrick and two-time state champion, has been named the new head football coach, returning to lead the program that shaped his youth.

The smell of barbecue, the bounce of inflatables and the buzz of hundreds of shoppers welcomed the return of the Excelsior Springs Farmers Market, marking the start of a new season filled with fresh produce, local artisans and family- focused fun.
