Students must have an A- (3.66) grade point average with no grade below a B-. *Notes student had straight A (4.00) grade point average or higher.

City explores crash prevention after second vehicle hits VFW

After a second vehicle crashed into the local VFW hall in less than five months, Excelsior Springs officials are reviewing safety options to prevent future accidents in the same area. The incident, which again involved a vehicle leaving the roadway near South Kansas City Avenue, prompted city leaders and staff to examine the risks posed by speed, road conditions and a lack of barriers on the hill.

O’Dell returns home to lead Orrick football

The next chapter of Orrick High School football will be written by someone who once carried the water bottles and wore the jersey under the Friday night lights. Matthew O’Dell, a 2009 graduate of Orrick and two-time state champion, has been named the new head football coach, returning to lead the program that shaped his youth.
MATTHEW O’DELL returns to lead the Orrick High School football program, where he once played, bringing years of coaching experience and a strong connection to the community. Submitted
