Board recognizes retiring staffers
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Three retiring district employees received a sendoff from district leaders when the Board of Education met May 9 at the Support Services Center.
Deputy Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson presented a gift bag to each person: Randy Barnes, a Career Center teacher; Vicky Goetz, director of the Rockin’ Tiger Club; and Donna Petree, a paraprofessional at the high school. They also received a 12-month Missouri Retired Teachers Association membership.
“It’s the largest association in the state. It helps fight for the most important thing you’ll ever have – your retirement pension,” Tomlinson told them.
A fourth retiree, Susan Hall, missed the ceremony, meeting minutes indicate.
As requested by Tomlinson, the retiring employees shared how long they had worked for the district and their post retirement plans. Barnes, whose entire 25-year career has been at Excelsior Springs, said he plans to spen...
