The first Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce luncheon of the year, sponsored by the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center, focused on cybersecurity. Joe Morgan, owner of Morganites, educated business owners in attendance on the importance of cybersecurity.

Cooper Collins was perfect at the 52nd annual Plate County Invitational – at least where his win-loss record was concerned. The Excelsior Springs sophomore went 8-0 for the Jan. 19-20 wrestling tournament, including six wins by fall, and was the champion for the 120-pound division. His championship helped the Tigers take fifth among 16 schools with 250 points. Hannibal took the team title with 366.5 points.

Nominations are open for the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors positions until Friday, Feb 2. Four candidates have been nominated thus far: Melissa Bartlett, Courtney Cole, Kristen De-Hart, and Bill Westerheide.

On March 2nd, Clay County will hold its Presidential Caucus to help select the next Republican nominee for the President and Vice President of the United States. The caucus replaces a Presidential Preference Primary and will be the only way Republicans in Missouri can express their presidential choice this election year.
