Council backs hospital partnership for Meals and a Visit Program
A new partnership between Excelsior Springs Hospital and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department will provide home-delivered meals and wellness visits to older residents. The agreement was approved by the City Council during a recent regular meeting.The resolution authorizes Excelsior Springs Hospital to prepare meals for the city’s Meals and a Visit Program through June 2026 at a cost of $5.50 per meal. Parks and Recreation Director Nate Williams noted the local bid was slightly higher than Liberty Hospital’s proposal but would save staff time and transportation expenses.“We sent out a request for proposals to provide meals for our newly funded Meals and a Visit Program,” said Williams. “Liberty Hospital and Excelsior Springs Hospital both sent in bids and we are excited Excelsior Springs Hospital did submit a bid at $5.50 per meal.
