Council OKs golf course pump panel
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The City Council agreed to a bid by Presley Solutions of Liberal, Kansas, for a new irrigation system pump panel for the golf course.
Three companies vied for the project, Head Golf Course Superintendent Frank Conrick told city leaders.
Presley bid “just over $38,000,” Nuco Pump Sales and Service bid $74,265 and the Rain Bird Corp. bid $59,905, Tony Bertles’ analysis stated.
Bertles directs agronomics for Orion Management Solutions, the Leawood, Kansas-based company that oversees the Excelsior Springs Golf Course.
Installation will mark the system’s first upgrade in 10-plus years, Conrick said. The last upgrade occurred because “raccoons got into it and fried the panel,” he told city leaders. Overall, the pump station is roughly 30 years old, Conrick estimated.
