Findings from shooting deaths of man, child reported
Following a thorough investigation into a recent Lawson shooting incident the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s (MSHP) Division of Drug and Crime Control has officially announced the results of their findings.Law enforcement responded to a residence regarding a domestic violence incident that ended with the death of a man and child. Evidence collected from the scene, along with preliminary autopsy findings, indicated Lawson resident Brett J. Yager. 26, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The autopsy also revealed that the child died from a gunshot wound. Investigators confirmed that the child was not injured by any gunfire from the law enforcement officers present at the scene. These investigative findings were submitted to the Ray County Prosecuting Attorney for further evaluation, according to MSHP.
