Museum announces Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall in 2026

The Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives has announced the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be on display from Sept. 9-14, 2026.This exhibit, sponsored by the museum, will take place at the James E. Piburn Ballfield, located at 112 South Thompson.The Vietnam Wall names 58,303 servicemen and eight servicewomen who died during the Vietnam War. This includes 1,418 soldiers lost from nearly 400 cities and towns across Missouri, including 19 from Clay County and five from Ray County in the Excelsior Springs Museum’s service area.In addition to the traveling exhibit, a special local display titled “Not Forgotten” will open on Feb. 1, 2026, and run through November 30, 2027, at the museum, which is situated at 101 East Broadway in historic downtown Excelsior Springs.The “Not Forgotten” display at the Excelsior Springs Museum will tell the history of the Vietnam War through the eyes of local service members and those affected on the home front....
