Waterfest welcomes thousands with music, fireworks, fun

A celebration of heritage and community spirit drew an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 visitors to downtown Excelsior Springs for the 42nd annual Waterfest, which organizers say exceeded expectations in nearly every way.The festival showcased the city’s mineral water legacy alongside music, vendors, family-friendly attractions and fireworks. Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce President Brian Rice emphasized the event delivered on its goals of boosting engagement and supporting local businesses.“Our top goals were to increase community engagement, elevate the vendor and entertainment experience and highlight Excelsior Springs’ rich mineral water heritage in fresh, meaningful ways,” said Rice. “We’re proud to say those goals were met and then some.
