WARRENSBURG – The proposed 21st Senatorial District map would make dramatic changes to the present district represented by Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg. Changes include that, for the next two years, Hoskins would not live in the district where he serves.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – An Excelsior Springs-area man is dead and his wife is under arrest, Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers stated. Childers said his office took a domestic violence call “with shots fired” about midnight Wednesday on Shoemaker Road east of the city.
JEFFERSON CITY – The Department of Natural Resources reviewed water quality for all eight public water systems in Ray County and Excelsior Springs PWS in Clay County. “No violations occurred in the calendar year 2020,” DNR reported for each district in the release of the 2022 Census of Missouri Public Water Systems.
KANSAS CITY –The Northland Coalition’s virtual 2022 Prevention Conference opened March 4 with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding members for their contributions to prevention and the coalition.
LIBERTY – A March 8 Clay County Sheriff’s Office pursuit resulted in an arrest and four felony charges. The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office charged Jimmy Sonneveldt, 32, with tampering with a motor vehicle, first degree, a Class D felony; two counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage or $1,000 or more, each a Class E felony; and resisting arrest by fleeing, a Class E felony.
LIBERTY – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office issued an annual report to the community. “A report like this is important to show the community how we use their tax dollars and let them hold us accountable,” Sheriff Will Akin said.
