Lawmakers to add 12.5 cents to each gallon of gas

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Senate’s answer to growing road and bridge needs is to add 12.5 cents per gallon to the motor fuel tax – equal to about $460 million annually. The 73.5% increase, going to 29.5 cents per gallon, would equal about $1.25 more for every 10 gallons put in a fuel tank.

Council OKs work schedule, OT changes at PD

Arrest follows homicide

RICHMOND – The investigation continues into a suspected Lafayette County homicide following a chase involving law enforcers from multiple jurisdictions, recovery of a Pleasant Hill man’s body and the arrest of a homicide suspect, Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers said late Tuesday afternoon.

“We’re certain it is a homicide,” he said.

RICHMOND – The investigation continues this morning into a possible homicide, Sheriff Scott Childers said.

An adult suspect has been taken into custody and an adult’s body has been located, but details are not being released at the moment.
