James Lamar White, 82, of Excelsior Springs passed away June 11, 2023, at home peacefully, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Assembly of God Church in Lawson. Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs.

1941, in Chattanooga, Tenn.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service with numerous medals and awards. He also retired from the Excelsior Springs School District.

He loved gardening, his church and his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha White; sisters, Evelyn White and Ann White; brother, Frank White; and daughter, Cynthia Busche.

Survivors include his sister, Wilma White; his kids and their spouses, Angela White and Donnie, Timothy White, Anthony and Susan White, Eric and Lisa White, and Jeffrey and Theresa White; 24 grandkids; and 43 great-grandkids.
