Although winter isn’t set to begin until Dec. 21, the air is already filled with the crisp change of colder weather. As the days get shorter and the night air sends a chill through the atmosphere, I know as a parent that it’s time to close the door and spend most of my time indoors. Sure, as a family, there is still farm work to be done hoses to defrost, hay to move, animals that need fresh bedding, tank heaters to be placed in the stock tanks, and feeders need to be filled, but playtime outdoors is limited due to colder temperatures. For most small children, it begs the opportunity to spend their days watching Disney movies and playing with building blocks. Yet, in this household, it brings out the fighting, arguing, and roughhousing that usually turns into someone getting hurt.
