Is writing an art or a skill?
Ever since falling in love with putting an idea on paper, cultivating stories, embracing deep-rooted emotions, and conveying them in a format to file away or to share with others, I’ve worked for this moment. I have reached the precipice of my destiny.
Every time a keyboard strokes, or a pen meets the edge of a lined piece of paper, a fire lights and words dribble out like a paintbrush makes strokes onto a rough canvas. Although writing creatively, it is easier to let words flow; writing is an art form yet could be debated as a learned skill.
Yes, everyone learns how to write. It’s a skill needed to propel into the future down many career avenues. But creatively, it is an art form - I genuinely believe that not everyone can tell a good story.
For me, telling a story out loud is a struggle. I babble over words, staggering to come up with the next plot twist.
