EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers had a nearly perfect week the last week of April in varsity boys tennis. Excelsior Springs went 3-1 in duals, scoring wins over Odessa and Clinton, both on April 26; and Odessa again on April 28. The Tigers’ lone loss was on April 27 to Kearney. The Tigers swept doubles play in their 6-3 April 26 road win over Odessa. Juniors Carter Pitts and Colby Mueller won their No. 1 match 8-6. Juniors Lee Mueller and Joshua Oldham won the No. 2 match 8-0. Juniors Matthew Rebello and Nolan Greim took the third match 8-3. In singles, Pitts fell in the No. 1 spot 8-6. Colby Mueller dropped a 9-8 heartbreaker in the second position. Lee Mueller won 8-3 in the No. 3 spot, followed by Oldham’s 8-2 win in the fourth sport. Rebello won the No. 5 match 8-6.
