ES softballers remain undefeated
Excelsior Springs continues to pile up the runs – and the victories – in varsity softball.Through Tuesday, the Tigers were 7-0 and had outscored their opponents 82-14. Those wins included a 14-2 pasting of Cameron Sept. 3 at Cameron, where Excelsior Springs had won a tournament Aug. 31.The Tigers took control with a four-run first inning. They added four runs in the third, four more in fourth and two in the fifth.Catcher Josie Casler and second baseman Alyssa Dean powered Excelsior Springs with four hits each. Casler, a junior, swatted two home runs as part of a 4-for-4 performance and had three RBIs. Dean, a senior, also scored three runs and had two RBIs.Other contributors on offense included juniors Keira Romazon, Willa Schreier and Bella Loeffert. Romazon hit three doubles and had four RBIs.
