Longtime Orrick coach, teacher joins Cardinals

ORRICK – After 18 years at Orrick, longtime coach and teacher Mitch Comstock has moved on. But he has not moved far away. Comstock, whose last official day was May 13, has agreed to coach and teach in the Lawson School District. His duties will include teaching middle school physical education, and serving as middle school football coach and assistant varsity boys basketball coach, he said May 8 following Orrick’s high school commencement ceremony. “Lawson’s always been a district that I’ve respected. … I’ve (got) a lot of friends that teach and coach up there,” Comstock said. At Orrick, Comstock coached at the junior high and varsity levels. He “coached everything we have here, except for softball,” he said.
