Marsh, ES netters reflect on historic season during banquet

On Tuesday, Excelsior Springs High School coach Richie Marsh brought his girls tennis team together for one last time this fall sports season. That night, Marsh gathered his Tigers in the high school commons area for their end-of-season banquet to recognize the netters’ achievements during a historic season for the program. “These young ladies endured many long days in the heat and persevered through tremendous obstacles throughout the year,” Marsh said. “To be the first girls team to win a district championship for Excelsior Springs is an accomplishment they should be proud of and a memory that will last a lifetime.” Marsh handed out individual awards. Lauren Mueller received the Hustle Award. Shelby Stodden received the Most Improved Player Award. Malaya Tedesco received the Newcomer of the Year Award.
