Senior finds volleyball team’s family atmosphere appealing

Like many girls in the Excelsior Springs High School volleyball program, Carly Dolt thinks of the program as a family. That family atmosphere is something the senior will miss about the program when this season ends. “I am going to miss all the memories I have made from my time in high school and look forward to what the future holds,” she said. Dolt, a libero for four seasons under coach Kathryn Patridge, hopes the future holds a career playing in college. To help her achieve that goal, Dolt plans to use her A+ scholarship, she said. For now, however, Dolt is looking to help Excelsior Springs compete. According to Partridge, Dolt brings several assets to the Tigers, who were 0-2 entering Wednesday’s home match with Oak Grove, having fallen to Fort Osage Monday at Excelsior Springs and St. Joseph Central Tuesday at Central. “Carly is a very spunky and knowledgeable volleyball player who is great defensively and sees the court very well,” Partridge said.
