EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The City Council approved Layne Christensen Co.’s $89,643 bid to inspect and clean three wells. City documents identified the Kansas City, Kansas, company as one of two companies to bid on the project.

After months of preparation, Waterfest has been cancelled due to downtown Excelsior Springs floods from Thursday night and Friday morning thunderstorms.

The Excelsior Springs Downtown area was under water Friday morning, June 25, 2021. After overnight thunderstorms saturated the area, many downtown streets, parking lots and businesses were caught in the flash flooding.

Clay County continues collecting property taxes for Excelsior Springs

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Clay County will continue to collect property taxes for Excelsior Springs. Earlier this month, the City Council approved an ordinance to give Mayor Sharon Powell the go-ahead to implement a new county-city tax collection agreement.
