Members of the Excelsior Springs Psychiatric Services (ESPS), a service of the Excelsior Springs Hospital (ESH), recently presented information regarding their services at the recent Substance Abuse-Free Environment (SAFE) meeting.

Neighborhood Specialist Laura Mize presented an update for the Community For All Ages Program during a recent Excelsior Springs City Council meeting. “KC Communities for All Ages is an age-friendly initiative that helps increase awareness in local jurisdictions of the impact of a growing older population,” according to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).

Creating self-awareness in the workplace is a new goal of Director of the Community Center and Parks and Recreation Nate Williams. After becoming a Certified Facilitator for Working Genius — as he recently did — productivity and workplace confidence can be increased, he said.

A Nebraska man has been arrested after a Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) K-9 put an end to an alleged crime spree. Reports say an elderly woman called CCSO on Feb.

The Excelsior Springs Fire Department (ESFD) responded to a request for mutual aid on a recent structure fire near Iris Avenue, in the Wood Heights Fire Department (WHFD) district. “We were dispatched for manpower on a detached garage fire,” said ESFD Assistant Chief Cameron White.
