Earl Lee Shook, 65, Lawson, MO. passed away July 22, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 12:00p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.  Visitation will be held 9-10:30am, Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home Lawson Chapel, 214 N. Pennsylvania, Lawson, MO. 

Robert "Bob" E. Mahoney

Body

Robert (Bob) E. Mahoney, 77, took the checkered flag peacefully at home on July 19, 2021. Cause of death may have been from when his liver went into shock from lack of beer and cigarettes he had to give up the last months of his life. A visitation will be held 12-2pm, Thursday, July 22 with service following at Union Baptist Church, Orrick, MO. with burial at Moore Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. 

Robert "Bob" E. Mahoney

Glenn W. Clevenger Sr.

Body

Glenn W. Clevenger Sr., 81, Excelsior Springs, MO. passed away peacefully at his home July 18, 2021 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held 10-11am, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 with service following at North New Garden Baptist Church, Excelsior Springs with burial at North New Garden Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the church.

Olen Eugene Griffel, born September 30, 1925, formerly of Higginsville and Excelsior Springs, died July 16, 2021, at the age of 95, in Braymer, MO. He will be buried in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.kaiserwiegersfuneralhome.com 

Larry Dean Owens

Born Feb 15, 1937, died July 17th, 2021. Larry was born in Coffeyville, Kansas. He retired from the air force after serving 22 years. He leaves his wife, Mary Joyce Owens; son, Randy Dean Owens; two grandchildren, Dominique Moon and her son, Anakin, and Brandon Owen, his wife, Angie, and daughter, Nova. A memorial service will be held later, no date set yet. No flowers please, you can make a donation to the Hospice Foundation.  

Freddie Junior Vanderpool

Freddie Junior Vanderpool passed away July 13, 2021, at his home. 
Freddie was born December 17,1942, in Liberty, MO to Fred and Marie 
(Woods) Vanderpool.  Freddie was raised in Excelsior Springs, graduating from Excelsior 
Springs High School in 1960.  He served in the US Army National Guard from 1964 – 1973 as a dog handler at NIKE bases in Lawson, MO and Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Mark Heavelow,71, of Lawson passed away July 7, 2021 at home. Mark was born July 15,1949.  

He worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years and was retired for 23 years, spending that time with his family. 

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie (Scobee) Heavelow; his father, William Heavelow; and his brothers, Larry and Lonnie Heavelow. 

Gregory Lynn Carroll

Gregory Lynn Carroll, 66, of Lawson, MO passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO. Greg was born on Feb. 26, 1955, the son of William “Bill” and Bonnie (Marley) Carroll in Excelsior Springs, MO.   

Greg grew up in Excelsior Springs and graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1973. He then obtained a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry from Calvary Bible College in 1977.  On July 31, 1999, he was united in marriage to Glenda McCubbin at Bethel Church.   

Richard Byron (Pope) Sager

Richard Byron (Pope) Sager, 90, went to be with our Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Thursday, July 8, 2021, after a fall in his home on June 23. He was born on Dec. 26, 1930, the ninth and youngest child of Milton and Ethel (Clark) Sager in Centerville, Iowa.
