EXCELSIOR’S CELEBRATION OF WATER RETURNED FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2019. HOSTED BY THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, WATERFEST 2022 FILLED THE DOWNTOWN STREETS JUNE 24 AND JUNE 25 WITH THOUSANDS OF GUESTS, HUNDREDS OF ACTIVITIES, AND COUNTLESS MEMORIES.

Excelsior Springs is pursuing roughly $5 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funding to upgrade its storm water system. Williams, city parks and recreation and community center director, gave that assessment when presenting the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual report for 2021 during the June 6 City Council meeting at the Hall of Waters.

More than 30 people gathered June 18 at the Carolyn Schutte Pocket Park in Excelsior Springs for the Parks and Recreation Department’s Movie in the Park event. The 1993 film “The Sandlot” played on an inflatable screen as a free activity for families and friends.
