EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – About two dozen Excelsior Springs High School soccer players and support staff personnel turned out to remove litter from streets in the vicinity of Jesse James Road. “Me and my mom adopted this highway about six years ago,” Excelsior Spring senior Emilie Barrera said.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers defeated the Savages, 33-21, last week, but Excelsior Springs could not beat the Savannah team’s brush with COVID-19.

Voters in June agreed 11,142 to 8,528 to spend $23.5 million to build a Westview replacement and make improvements to other buildings.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – If you cannot be at Tiger Stadium, the Excelsior Springs High School gymnasium, or the softball and baseball fields this year, you can still watch the Tigers play. In cooperation with the National Federation of High School Sports, Activities Director Joe Greim has linked those facilities to have capabilities to live stream all events that take place.

The Brunke Building of Excelsior Springs received the award for Best Historic Preservation Project from a statewide business group, Missouri Main Street Connection Inc., Branson. At the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Executive Director Lyndsey Baxter said Brunke’s statewide win, among so many potential rivals in Missouri, speaks well for the owners, preservationists Gary and Kim Sanson.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Historic Preservation Commission announced STRATA Architecture has been “engaged to produce a new and improved set of design guidelines” for the historic districts of Excelsior Springs. The Historic Preservation Commission and Community Development Department received a Historic Preservation Fund Grant to fund the production of the guidelines.
