EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Excelsior Springs Hospital added three new services to its outpatient clinic: DERMATOLOGY Dr. Marija Tonkovic-Capin is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in cosmetic dermatology, dermatologic oncology and dermatologic care.

After virus delay comes graduation day

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The summer sun was bright, but on the first day of August, not so hot – in the 80s rather than the 90s or over 100 degrees – as about 400 guests took their places on stainless steel bleachers overlooking seniors dressed in black or gold gowns.
ON GRADUATION DAY, Excelsior Springs High School senior Tori Bryan takes a moment to sit on the school mascot before continuing the walk to the football field for the ceremony. Graduation occurs normally in May, but the pandamic delays the event until Aug. 1.

Cooperative warns about scam

KEARNEY – Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative warns consumer-members in Ray, Clay, Platte and other counties of a new phone scam targeting them. The scam consists of PCEC members being falsely told the cooperative was bought out by another utility and their payments were not processed correctly due to the merger.

Free academic help available to veterans

WARRENSBURG – Veterans who are wanting to transition to civilian life can find help. They can prepare for a new career at any school through Veterans Upward Bound, or VUB, at the University of Central Missouri.

Barbee names pastor
