CLINTON – When it came to varsity boys golf this spring, Excelsior Springs was difficult to beat in Missouri River Valley Conference West Division play. The Tigers went 6-1 in divisional matches, with their only loss coming to Pleasant Hill by one stroke in their opening triangular.

Tigers drop 5 of 6 in varsity girls soccer

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are trying to find their winning ways again in varsity girls soccer. After winning four straight from March 31 to April 11, Excelsior Springs had lost five out of six through Monday’s 2-1 road loss to Savannah.

Tigers produce 10 top-five finishes at Mineral Water Classic

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Overall, the Tigers “had a great day” in varsity track and field April 22 at the Mineral Water Classic, coach Jonah Albertson said. “With the 20-plus mile-per-hour wind we had, we didn’t expect too many personal records, but we still came away with 13 on the day,” Albertson said.

ES baseballers stage big inning, snap skid

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Sometimes, it takes just one big inning to end a losing streak. The Tigers had just that April 19 against visiting Fort Osage to end a fourgame skid in varsity baseball with a 4-2 win.

Mary Roush

Mary Roush, 82 of Missouri City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

Visitation will be held at Gowing Funeral Home, 202 Adams Street, Orrick, MO, on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., with a Memorial service following at 6:00 p.m. 

Mary Roush is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Roush and Donnie Roush and one Daughter, Connie Mathis. Three sisters, Lue Schriever, Georgie Fry and Deanna Potts. She is also survived  by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Couple receives state preservation award

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Kevin and Sonya Morgan received the McReynolds Award from the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation for long-term work promoting Historic Preservation in Excelsior Springs and Clay County.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Scores of children participated in the Community Easter Egg Hunt April 15 at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab, 1003 Meadowlark Lane. Activities Director Chris Young said probably 200 people attended.
