Catherine Lee Coleman passed away peacefully in her home on July 23, 2022 at Colony Plaza Apartments in Excelsior Springs, MO. Born Dec. 3, 1960 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO, she was the daughter of Melvin and Helen Pollard; the fourth of six children.

CAMERON – Excelsior Springs varsity softball coach Megan Gilbertson broke down her Tigers’ performance in the Cameron Tournament by the two days they played in it. “We came out and played really well Friday, hitting, pitching and playing defense,” Gilbertson said.

Woods Memorial leaves legacy for students

Woods Memorial Christian Church, a name that has been part of Excelsior Springs history for 100-plus years, closed its doors earlier this year, but its legacy will continue. Church members Joyce McKown and her son Darren donated $125,000 to the Excelsior Springs Educational Foundation on Tuesday to help the children of the community for years to come.
