ES eyes third-place finish at state

By the time you read this, Excelsior Springs will have placed third or fourth at state in baseball. At press time, the Tigers were preparing to play Fulton for third place in the Class 4 state tournament Thursday at Sky Bacon Stadium in Ozark.

Michael Dickey speaks about various Indian cultures

Recently, Michael Dickey spoke to locals about various American Indians who resided in and around Missouri during the time of the Louisiana Purchase. He described individual tribes and the roles they played in Missouri history while showcasing slides that embodied American Indian culture.
OSAGE AMERICAN Indians went by the name Wah-Zha-Zhi meaning “lost” before the name was interpreted as Ouzhage (later spelled Osage), according to Michael Dickey.

Local college students recognized

College students from Excelsior Springs have been recognized by making a ranking achievement from various colleges. Dean’s List State Technical College of Missouri — Dalton Goodwine, Wyatt Jarvis, Daiton Love and Joshua Scott.
