Coach Kirk Thacker’s plans for starting Orrick’s final week of varsity 8-man football team camp Monday got changed. Normally, Thacker and his Bearcats hold camp sessions outside.

On Tuesday, Lucas Dillman fulfilled a dream, one that many young baseball players have: He played in a Major League Baseball stadium. Dillman, who graduated this spring from Excelsior Springs High School, achieved his dream by playing in the Ban Johnson League All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium.

The Excelsior Standard, July 28, 2023 Connie Lynn Irons Parker Burch, 74, passed away on July 19, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Bob; five children; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters.

Noah Marker Noah Reed Marker, age 22, of Excelsior Springs passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2023. He was born on July 22, 2000, and a 2018 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School.
