Council approves resolutions, moves ahead on assorted projects

The Excelsior Springs City Council recently approved several resolutions related to infrastructure and equipment. “This has been a long process and we’re pleased to bring forward options that meet city specifications and fall within our budget,” said Public Works Director Chad Birdsong.

Open house to guide future growth

Excelsior Springs residents are invited to help shape the future of the city by attending a public open house on April 16 to discuss the city’s Comprehensive Plan. The event will occur from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1650 Rainbow Boulevard. Attendees can arrive any time during the two-hour window, as there will be no formal presentation.

Svoboda remains dedicated after 14 years

After first joining the city of Excelsior Springs as a court administrator 14 years ago, Taran Svoboda is still finding new ways to serve the community she calls home. Svoboda, now the assistant director of administration for Excelsior Springs Parks, Recreation and Community Center, began her journey in 2011 after spending nine years with the Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
