Academic school year extended

The Excelsior Springs School District has officially decided to extend the school year. After careful consideration and in response to several weather-related closures that affected the school calendar earlier in the year, the district has decided to conclude the school year on May 22, rather than May 20 as originally planned.

Sheriff’s office earns national accreditation

Silver Prom returns with ‘This Magic Moment’

Ryan places third for ESHS at Ron Ives Invitational

Reese Ryan held her own against competition from larger schools when she and her Excelsior Springs teammates competed at the Ron Ives Invitational. Ryan, a first-year high schooler, placed third in the triple jump at the March 21 track and field meet, hosted by Liberty High School.

Baseballers ‘cruising along O.K.’ early in season

Excelsior Springs was “cruising along O.K.” after two weeks of varsity baseball, according to coach Aaron Holst. “Offensively, I feel like we’re farther ahead than where I maybe expected, or deemed, we would be at this point,” Holst said March 29 after a home triangular with Benton of St.

Biermann takes second at opener

Landon Biermann was in position to be the individual winner at Excelsior Springs’ season-opening varsity boys golf competition. For much of the front nine holes of the Oak Grove Invitational, the senior led the pack.
