Molly Beth Hammer Kruse passed away on Nov. 24, 2020, after a courageous 13 years of living with breast cancer.

Judy Lou (Cathcart) Jeffers, of Excelsior Springs, passed away peacefully at Valley Manor Nursing Home on Nov. 27, 2020. Judy was in-state from noon to 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 30. A graveside service was held 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Lawson Cemetery. Judy was born on Jan. 18, 1946, in Excelsior Springs. Her parents were William and Muriel (Lamb) Cathcart.

Kenneth Wayne “Corky” Barnett, 86, of Joplin, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, in the comfort of his home.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The coronavirus pandemic kept Excelsior Springs’ varsity football season up in the air from week to week. The Tigers, 3-5, lost two games this season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Some young Tigers are expected to contribute, and quickly, this varsity boys basketball season. Coach Chad Wright, who enters his 21st year as a head basketball coach and sixth season at Excelsior Springs, leads the Tigers, who went 1-24 in 2019- 20.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers seek to continue moving in the right direction – that is, the winning direction – this varsity girls basketball season. Under head coach J.D.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – With the return of three state medalists and a ninth-place finish last season at the Class 2 state tournament, there is excitement in the training room as the Tigers begin another varsity boys wrestling season.

Back in July, the physicians and nurses who comprise the Missouri State Medical Association and the Missouri Nurses Association, joined together to urge Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to implement a statewide masking requirement.
