Hospital weighs survey feedback on health issues

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Excelsior Springs Hospital CEO Kristen DeHart and her staff received community feedback from 2020 that they plan to use to help improve hospital services. During the City Council’s general meeting May 17, DeHart shared her report for fiscal year 2020, including survey data.

4-H’ers reach food drive milestone

In addition to the many and varied organizations that deserve credit for feeding people in need, including those in Excelsior Springs and Ray County, a shout out is deserved by 4-H clubs that have done the same thing.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Longtime NFL coach Gregg Williams remembers watching Excelsior Springs varsity football as a boy. Specifically, Williams remembers watching the Tigers from 1964 to 1967, when they went undefeated under coach Vic Bonuchi.

Jackie Allen Smith

Jackie Allen Smith, 76, Prathersville, Missouri passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Liberty Hospital.  At Jackie’s request there will be no formal services.  He was an organ donor of eyes, organs, and tissue upon his passing.

Walter Eugene Ruth, Sr.

Walter Eugene “Gene” Ruth, Sr., 83, of Lawson, Missouri, fell asleep peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones, Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was born March 29, 1938, to Ervin and Mary Ruth in Kansas City, Missouri. Gene was married to Louise Oliver from March 29, 1960, to her death, March 28, 2003.
