LIBERTY – Elected leaders and the long-awaited state audit of the Clay County Commission slammed the fiscal recklessness of former Commissioners Gene Owen and Luann Ridgeway. The public petitioned Auditor Nicole Galloway to do the audit.

Dolt agrees to wrestle at Baker University

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Ayden Dolt is seeing the results of his dedication to wrestling. In February, the Excelsior Springs senior capped his high school career by winning the Class 2 152-pound state title.

James Edmund (Ed) Dixon

James Edmund (Ed) Dixon died Feb. 25, 2022, at Green Hills Care Facility in Ames, IA. Ed was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Clinton, MO. In 1945 the family moved to Excelsior Springs, MO. Ed later moved to Ames, IA in 1956 where he lived until his death. In 1960, Ed married Eugenia Ann Moore. Two sons were born to this union. They later divorced. He was a member of the Iowa State faculty for 37 years.
