Davis takes wrestling, academic careers to UCM

Lawrence (Larry) Eugene Greim

Lawrence (Larry) Eugene Greim, Excelsior Springs, died peacefully on June 2, 2022.  

Larry was born in Excelsior Springs, MO on Dec. 24, 1941. He graduated from ESHS in 1960 and was an accomplished Tigers basketball player. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 1965 and began his 53-year career by working at his father’s downtown drug store. He eventually owned Brown’s Prescription Drugs in Excelsior. Like his father, Larry also earned the prestigious 50-year pharmacy plaque during his distinguished career.

Phillip Alfred Pulley, 90, Lawson, MO, passed away on June 1, 2022. Phillip was born Aug. 28, 2931. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 2 to 2 p.m. at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Lawson.  Funeral will be held on June 12, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Oak Christian Church, Amity, MO. Burial at St. Joseph Memorial Park 5005 will occur on June 13, 2022, at 11 a.m. 

Martha Carol (Stein) Cox

Martha Carol (Stein) Cox, 73, of Ludlow, MO, passed away peacefully at Grand River Healthcare, Chillicothe, MO.   

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over fifty years, James. V. Cox, on Jan. 26, 2020.   

She is lovingly remembered by two sisters, Lynn Gillespie of Deepwater, MO, and Mona Hodges of Mountain Home, AR; and three children, Eric Cox (Gina) of Pinehurst, TX, Elizabeth Sutton of Sedalia, MO, and Ellysa Siebert (Daniel) of Lawson, MO;  as well as twelve grandchildren. 

Scott Allan Williams

On May 26, 2022, Scott Allan Williams passed away at the age of 59 after a short battle with ALS. Scott was born on Aug. 23, 1962, in Excelsior Springs, MO to F.L “Bugs” and Donna Williams.  

Scott graduated from Excelsior Springs High School, class of 1981. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated in 1997 from William Jewell College with a Business Administration degree. He started Williams Appraisals in 1988.  

No ‘COVID slides’ in 2023, DeHart promises

PART I OF II EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Excelsior Springs Hospital Chief Executive Officer Kristen DeHart made a promise to city leaders when she presented the hospital’s annual report for 2021 with a slideshow during the May 16 City Council meeting at the Hall of Waters. “Next year, I will not have COVID slides,” DeHart said.

Unfortunately, the least is the entirety of what will be offered by the pro-gun lobby and their lackeys in Congress after the massacre May 23 at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, population 1,600.
