Your editorial of 13 May, 2022, regarding my client Jacqueline Peterson demands that charges be filed in the shooting of her abusive husband. It reminds me of a film in which the supporting characters wail that they must do something. The lead character reminds them that, no, they must do the right thing.

Class available for dementia care

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – There is an increasing need for information to help caregivers of dementia patients in our community, educator Sharon Senger stated. To help fulfill this need, a free support group will be offered for caregivers for eight to nine weeks.

Tigers’ postseason baseball run ends

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers’ quest to claim the Class 4 state baseball title ended May 27 in defeat. After rallying for a 6-5 sectional victory over Savannah May 25 at Excelsior Springs, the Tigers fell 5-2 two nights later at Marshall in the state quarterfinals.

ESHS club rollers make it to state

SPRINGFIELD – The Excelsior Springs club bowling team finally made its trip to state. Consisting of Joshua Oldham, Cole Dickey, Olivia Smith, David Falconer, Colt Bowman and Brock Hurla, the team competed in the Missouri BPA high school state tournament May 28 at Andy B’s Bowl and Social.

Moffett 13th, Wartner 15th at state meet

JEFFERSON CITY – Two of three Excelsior Springs athletes placed in the top 15 at Class 4 boys state track and field competition. The top eight finishers in each event received medals at the May 27 and 28 competition at Adkins Stadium, held in conjunction with Class 3 and Class 5 competition.
