Thrive Leadership Academy kicks off

The Excelsior Springs Thrive Leadership Academy began Oct. 9, bringing people together to learn about leadership and the systematic approach the community uses to make change and affect city improvement and growth.

Clay County Health Center celebrates 70 years

The Clay County Health Center recently celebrated its 70th anniversary and continues gaining momentum to serve the Clay County region with various services. Kelsy Neth, communications specialist, described the celebration as a time for staff to discuss new and ongoing programs and the good works of the health center as they continue to provide for Clay County residents.

ES softballers enter postseason; finish regular season 11-13

It’s postseason time for Excelsior Springs in varsity softball. At press time, the fourth-seeded Tigers were slated to open the Class 4 District 8 Tournament Thursday against fifthseeded, Independence-based William Chrisman at Miracle Field, with the winner to face the Kearney-Lincoln College Prep winner in the semifinals of the single-elimination tournament at 12:45 p.m.

Rainbow Splash pad closure discussed

The Excelsior Springs Park and Recreations Board discussed the early closure of the Rainbow Splash pad amid warmer weather days stretching into early fall. Parks and Recreations Director Nate Williams explained that the splash pad has a recirculation system that must be winterized before cold weather sets in.
