Cool weather caps latest youth football camp

When Excelsior Springs varsity football coach Jake Danneman, his assistant coaches and players guided 100plus kiddos on the last day of a four-day youth camp, they had good weather on their side. “It’s been a rough one all week – been hot, and then last night, we got cut short because of a little bit of lightning in the area,” Danneman said on a cool July 17 evening under mostly cloudy skies at Tiger Stadium.

JH joins varsity for summer training at Orrick

Orrick varsity 8-man football coach Matt O’Dell made a change for the Bearcats’ third straight week of offseason team camp sessions. This week, the varsity Bearcats were joined by members of Orrick’s junior high program.

Lane closures set for U.S. 169 and Cookingham

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will begin traffic modifications on U.S. Highway 169 at Northwest Cookingham Drive starting next week as part of a scheduled bridge rehabilitation project. All work is weather permitting and dates and times are subject to change.
