Council approves street maintenance agreements
Three agreements have been approved for street maintenance projects to advance infrastructure improvements which will affect several neighborhoods.The Excelsior Springs City Council approved three agreements with McAnany Construction, Vance Brothers and All Pro Asphalt. The work will include ultra-thin bonded asphalt surface (UBAS) treatments, chip seal applications and base repair work.The first agreement authorizes McAnany Construction to handle UBAS overlay work in the Golf Hill neighborhood. The project includes Bell, High and Forest drives, focusing on roads that received base repairs last year.According to Excelsior Springs City Manager Molly McGovern, the UBAS work follows a strategic, multi-phase approach that ensures roads receive necessary maintenance before they deteriorate further.“Since we did our street scan, we typically do base and curb repair one year and the next year, we come back and do the overlay,” said McGovern....
