Efforts to prevent cyber scams continue
In an effort to prevent electronic scams, the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) is once again partnering with PC’s for People to host an electronics recycling event after the last one showed great success.“The last event allowed for over 7,000 pounds of electronic waste to be collected that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill,” said Clay County Prosecutor Zachary Thompson. “PC’s for People told us they have never collected that much from a single event like this here in America. So here in Clay County, we are setting records.”The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on July 27 in the parking lot at 201 Mill Street in Liberty. The event will end early if the truck becomes full because only one truck is allowed. Updates on the truck’s capacity will be posted on CCPO’s Facebook page. This event is open to all Clay County residents free of charge, except for a few items that will incur a small cost for drop-off....
