An Excelsior Springs man was taken off GPS monitoring last week while facing two felony charges in Clay County Court.James M. Jamerson, 24, is charged with two felonies of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon by shooting at or from a motor vehicle at a person, motor vehicle or building.Jamerson, along with attorney Harold L. Holiday III, appeared before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Louis Angles.The defense filed a motion stating Jamerson had been on GPS monitoring since Dec. 6, 2024, with a curfew from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and had no violations or positive drug tests. According to the motion, Jamerson works as a forklift operator at Church and Dwight Warehouse and frequently missed hours or overtime opportunities because of curfew restrictions.Over the state’s objection, Angles granted the request to change bond conditions.
