Excelsior Springs advances multi-phase street improvements

More than $1 million in street improvements will move forward across Excelsior Springs this year through a multi-phase streetscape program.The projects were approved by the Excelsior Springs City Council during a recent meeting and represent a coordinated three-phase approach to street maintenance and reconstruction. Public Works Director Chad Birdsong explained the program includes ultrathin bonded asphalt surface work, chip seal treatments and more intensive curb, base and pavement rehabilitation, each applied based on the condition and needs of specific streets.Each phase uses a different treatment method depending on the condition of the roadway.The first phase of the program focuses on ultra- thin bonded asphalt surface (UBAS) work, targeting streets suitable for surface-level improvements.The agreement with McAnany Construction covers a wide range of streets across the city, including Ann Circle and Jill Lane, as well as portions of...
