Hospital marks National Nutrition Month with wellness programs

Excelsior Springs Hospital will mark National Nutrition Month in March with two educational sessions focused on brain health and protein intake, highlighting nutrition’s role in supporting memory, strength and independence as people age.March is recognized nationwide as National Nutrition Month, an annual campaign established in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to encourage informed food choices and healthy eating and physical activity habits. This year’s theme, “Discover the Power of Nutrition,” emphasizes the role food and beverage choices play in overall health and well-being.Excelsior Springs Hospital is aligning its March programming with that theme by offering two sessions at 11:30 a.m. at the Community Center, 500 Tiger Drive. The first session, “Eat Smart, Think Sharp!” will be held on March 6 and will focus on brain health.
