Not guilty plea entered in local high-speed pursuit case
A Kansas City man accused of leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit through Excelsior Springs recently pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the incident.
Michael Jamal Jordan, 48, is charged with felony aggravated fleeing a stop or detention and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Jordan recently appeared before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Louis Angles for arraignment, at which he entered a not guilty plea.
The case was continued to July 9 for an initial bond hearing or to hire an attorney; however, information was not made available as of press time.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 14.
According to the complaint filed by Clay County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Alyssa Benjamin,
