Gena Burnham of Excelsior Springs passed away July 20, 2024.

My mom went to cosmetology school. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was an avid reader, loved to spend time with her family and loved to listen to music. She was a strong woman with a sweet and kind soul.

She was preceded in death by Melvin Edward Burnham, to whom she was married for 50-plus years; her mother, Lillian Barber; and her brother, Larry Petty.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Reid; daughter, Jana Burnham; and granddaughter, Kaitlin Smith.
