Shirley Holtzclaw age 62 a resident of Excelsior Springs passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 17th, 2022. 

The funeral services held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23rd, 2022, at Bross & Spidle in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. 

Shirley was born on July 27th, 1959, to Johnnie Joseph Johnson and Ruth Elizabeth Hines from Chillicothe, Missouri along with nine brothers and sisters. 

She was united in marriage to Wayne Holtzclaw on August 5th, 1978. 

Preceding her in death September 17th, 2018. Shirley worked at Lear/ Johnson Controls. She was a member of the UAW Local 235. 

She commercial fished and wholesaled fresh fish in the Kansas City area. 

She was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  

She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and visiting with family.  She enjoyed collecting antiques and other collectibles, and boating.   

Her wittiness and colorful vocabulary were always on tap.  

Her laughter definitely filled the room.  Everyone always seemed to take a liking to her.  Her orneriness and outgoingness were contagious. She always enjoyed acting  

a fool and having a good time.  She had several nicknames; Green jeans, girrrrly, squirrels, and frosty top and flat top to name a few. 

Survivors include two daughters: Shalae Holtzclaw and Sheila Brown of Excelsior Springs.  

One stepdaughter; Tammy Bennett of Kansas City.  Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.  Five brothers; Tom Johnson of Hughesville Missouri, Jim Johnson of Kansas City.  Les Johnson of Excelsior Springs, Jeff Johnson of Avalon, and Joe Johnson of Chillicothe Missouri. 

Three Sisters; Ann Smith of Excelsior Springs.  Susan Holcomb of Gallatin, Missouri, and Barbara Silkwood of Polo, Missouri.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
