Janet Kaye Campbell, 69, passed away Aug. 16, 2022, she joins her husband of 46 years, Donnie who passed away July 26, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held 4-7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, with memorial service following at Lawson Baptist Church, 18603 US-69 Hwy, Lawson, MO.  A private family inurnment will be held at Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, MO.

David D. Lodwick

David D. Lodwick, 92, passed away at home surrounded by family on Aug. 5, 2022. 

David was born Mar. 15, 1930, in Excelsior Springs to John S. Lodwick and Ethel Forsyth Lodwick. He attended Excelsior Springs public schools and graduated in 1948, during which time he earned the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts. He attended Iowa Wesleyan University in Mt. Pleasant, IA and graduated with a degree in Business and Economics in 1952.  

Douglas Struby

Douglas Struby passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 6, 2022. Doug was born in Moberly, MO on Feb. 17, 1952, to Harry and Irene Struby.  

He graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1970 and Baker University in 1975, where he played basketball.  

Doug was a kind soul who always enjoyed meeting new people, was loyal to his friends, and was a HUGE animal lover. His true pride and joy were his family…especially his grandkids, nieces, and nephews.  

Donna Dee (Bayless) Jacques

Donna Dee (Bayless) Jacques, 85, of Valley Manor in Excelsior Springs, and formerly of Westbrook of Kearney, passed away Aug. 9, 2022. 

Donna was born Apr. 11, 1937, in Crawford County, MO, the third of five children of Samuel Christopher and Martha Ellen (Ferris) Bayless. Donna retired as a Quality Appraisal Specialist for the Federal Government. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, the Order of the Eastern Star, and NARFE.

Larry Hermreck

Larry Hermreck, 82, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on July 30, 2022, with family by his side.  The youngest son of Fred and Beulah Hermreck, Larry lived in varied places, from MO, CO, to FL.  He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. 
 
Larry began his career in finance in 1963 in Marshall, MO, with Tower and Loan. He moved to the Excelsior Springs Savings and Loan in approximately 1973. He retired from the Community Bank/North American Savings Bank as Chief Executive Officer in 1999 after over 25 years of service.

Vicky Sue Massa

Body

In loving memory of Vicky Sue Massa. Devoted wife, a loving mother and a dedicated grandmother sadly passed away on Wednesday, July 27, at the age of 73.  

She predeceased by both parents and her son Shawn.  

She was survived by her husband, James; her two sons, Robert & Chris; and her grandkids, Mason, Madi, John and Riley.  

To honor Vicky’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life at the Eagles Lodge in Excelsior Springs on Saturday, Aug. 6th at 5 p.m. We invite all friends and family to attend and remember her wonderful life.

Ancel Eugene Parman

Ancel Eugene Parman of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away on the morning of July 19, 2022. 

While known to many as Eugene, to most people he was known as Gene.  Born April 17, 1930, near Excelsior Springs to Ivan and Anna (Vassmer) Parman.  He graduated from ESHS in 1948.  There he met Claudene, his beloved wife of 64 years.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudene; his parents; and son, Stephen E. Parman. 

Donald Lee Gorsage

Donald Lee Gorsage, 67 of Rayville, MO passed away surrounded by his loving family at North Kansas City Hospital on July 14, 2022. 

Don was born to Walter Lee Gorsage and Virginia Gorsage (Drehel) on Mar. 11, 1955, in Harrisonville, MO. He graduated Oak Park High School in 1973. Following graduation, Don enlisted in the US Naval Academy and served aboard The USS White Plains (AFS-4). From there his career began at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2007. For years he served in the Army National Guard. Don was employed by Orscheln Farm and Home, until his passing. 

Karla Kay  Patterson

Karla Kay Patterson, of Excelsior Springs, MO was born in Pittsburg, KS on Dec. 22, 1939. She passed away, Feb. 11, 2022, at her home, with her children and grandchildren by her side.  

Karla had a life so beautiful and had a heart so deeply loved. She lived a life that mattered. She was kind, loving, caring and always encouraged us to live up to our highest potential.
