Having a pet can bring joy and companionship, but it also comes with its own set of challenges.
In my household, the challenge is Percy, a reactive dog that is not fond of other dogs, causing a significant amount of stress.
For nearly seven years, my pitbull mix has been a cherished companion. Despite his incredibly amiable demeanor towards humans, his past has left him wary of most other dogs. Prior to being rescued, Percy endured a distressing ordeal in a Pitbull fighting ring, where he was forced to participate in fights.
However, none of this mattered to me when I first met him. The moment Percy climbed into my lap, I felt an instant connection and knew he was meant to be mine. Even though he was big then — and even bigger now — his trust in me was unwavering. At the time, I was cautioned that he shouldn’t be around other dogs, but when my husky, Bruce, visited the facility to meet him, there were no issues whatsoever.
