Dear Editor, In today’s world, we have news in the palm of our hands, whenever and wherever we want it. However, I have realized news that impacts us is more readily found in our local newspapers. Small town newspapers are the community’s backbone and provide much more than a link to an article online or a news clip on social media.As someone who is proud of my community, I believe the local newspaper is a great way to support our local businesses and to truly discover important issues that impact us daily. While many people these days take it for granted, they don’t appreciate the hard work of our local media and reporters. These individuals live and are active in our community. They pay the same taxes as we do and send their children to the same schools. They go above and beyond to ensure that the facts are uncovered, regardless of the time of day when something occurs.
