Bishop chooses Coe College to continue athletic, academic pursuits

When Excelsior Springs senior Cooper Bishop was considering colleges to continue his athletic and academic careers, he narrowed his list to two schools: Coe College and Nebraska Wesleyan University.He chose Coe. Recently, Bishop formally finalized his decision by signing his letter of intent to play football, participate in track and field, and study at the NCAA Division III school.“It offered great athletic and academic programs,” Bishop said.Located in Cedar Rapids and affiliated with the American Rivers Conference, Coe boasts a football program that has made 11 Division III playoff appearances, including back-to-back appearances in 2023 and 2024. The Kohawks finished 9-2 and exited in the first round of the playoffs in both of those seasons.Bishop plans to study sports marketing as he helps the Kohawks pursue additional playoff appearances.
